Shares “Superman is a dick” covers non-ironically
Believes less popular characters are disposable
Thinks killing characters purely for shock value is good storytelling.
Cares not about the quality of story but how much it shakes up the status quo.
Thinks all teen superheroes are just sidekicks.
Thinks sidekicks are just younger clones of the “real heroes”.
Judges characters solely by their powers.
As a full time worker in a comic store for many years, I have never related more to a post in my fucking life.
Allow me to include (from real experiences):
- Thinks Deathstroke and Grifter are Deadpool knock offs.
- Asks why a Godzilla figure is labeled a Kaiju when he wasn’t in Pacific Rim.
- Thinks Barbara Gordon having a sexual relationship with Bruce gives her character meaning.
- Thinks Nightwing is the worst batboy because girls like him.
- Says there’s never been a girl Robin “except that redhead in Dark Knight”.
- Thinks there’s only been one Batgirl.
- Has no idea who Batwoman is.
- Thinks Wonder Woman isn’t a good character and is just the girl option since girls can’t understand Batman or Superman.
- Thinks Joker isn’t abusive toward Harley.
- Has no idea who the Gotham City Sirens are.
- Alternatively calls the Gotham City Sirens the “Gotham City Sluts”
- Has no idea who Martian Manhunter is.
- Is David Goyer.
- Thinks the Zack Snyder films are brilliant.
- Prattles on about being “such a nerd” while wearing a Batman shirt and buying The Court of Owls and nothing else.
- Tries prattling on about there being “no precedent” for any kind of artwork like the art in (insert random issue here) despite the being literal decades of it.
- Thinks Hank Pym is a violent wife-beater. Thinks Reed Richards and Peter Parker are great, if they even know who Reed is.
- Was surprised when Quicksilver was “suddenly back from the dead” with the Civil War II tie-in issue of Scarlet Witch.
- Thinks John Stewart is the only GL of Earth.
- Thinks of Wolverine as “the best X-Man ever”.
- Thinks the core problem with Marvel’s current X-books is that “Jubilee isn’t in them”.
- Spends an hour trying to convince you that the Martian Manhunter would be “cooler if he had a gun”.
- Refuses to read Tom King’s Omega Men even after you’ve called it “the best GL story [they’ve] never read” because “there’s now ay it can be better than Sinestro Corps” [sic] and Kyle is in it.
- (Pre-2010) “War Machine is the worst Iron Man villain.”
(Working in comic book stores makes me want to scream sometimes).

- argues the exact same thing about Wonder Woman being bisexual.
- actually, argues this about any main established character incarnation when they’re not white, male or straight anymore. Because artists would never WILLINGLY do that of course.

Amanda Dale, who is executive director of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, a Toronto organization for women facing violence, says that this peacemaker programming is lifelong and “like a gauze over everything we do,” so that women don’t even notice its effect half the time.
“We are taught from a very young age that the most important thing to do is to be nice and carry on and keep everyone connected. There is no form of violence against women where there isn’t an element of this. We create these expectations of girls and women, and then we turn on them,” says Dale, referring to the collective exasperation of the public toward abused women who stay or those who remain connected to assailants they know.
